PEW Center on the States - Pre [K] Now

Pre-K Now (Part of The Pew Center on the States) is a public education and advocacy organization advancing high quality, voluntary pre-kindergarten for all three and four year olds. Pre-K Now supports state-based children’s advocates; educates policymakers about the need for pre-k and raises public awareness about the need for pre-k for all children.

Pre-K now has engaged WebFirst to design am internal web-based database system that will be a repository for data on state-funded pre-k programs and Pre-K Now’s work with these programs. The database will be Pre-K Now’s primary tool for storing, comparing, and analyzing and presenting this data to internal staff and certain external constituents.

Some of the features developed by WebFirst:

1. A brand new look and feel for the repository website. WebFirst is very focused on the need for ease of navigation, timely and accurate delivery of survey data, and security.
2. Large Scale Data Repository and Data Mining Capabiliites (SQL Server)
3. Streamlined and easy to use data entry module
4. Searching and reporting mechanism that drills down to the data required by Pre-K Now’s user base.
5. e rules and triggers on certain fields by which auto generated emails will be sent to staff for civic actions.
