The National SIDS & Infant Death Project IMPACT

impact

The National SIDS & Infant Death Project IMPACT supports state and local infant death programs through sharing information, promoting policy and legislative changes, building upon resources, and fostering partnerships and communication. Project IMPACT is a cooperative agreement between the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) and the Association of SIDS and Infant Mortality Programs (ASIP), designed to enhance communication among state and local programs and between these programs and federal and state policymakers.

SIDS came to WebFirst to improve its website design, add interactive content, and to find a solution to update its web site without HTML knowledge. To display information shared between different states, we created a map of the U.S. and territories that allows users to click on a particular state to access program information for that state. This also included a web-based administrator to allow IMPACT staff to edit/modify state information and external links to be included, without the need to know any HTML or web programming languages.

SIDS related organizations also can submit events to the event calendar displayed on the website. Through the web-based administrator, staff members can add/modify/delete events and event details before they are published to the web site.

WebFirst also created a random factoid rotation. Staff can upload images and text via the administrator and the information is displayed through out the web site.

Included was a search engine that allows users to search the site by keyword.
