WebFirst is working in the Office of Critical Information Integration and Exchange (OCIIX) in the National Center for Zoonotic, Vector-Borne, and Enteric Diseases (NCZVED) at the CDC. The Office of Critical Information Integration and Exchange is charged with the establishing a new public health information fusion center that would incorporate information from multiple sources, facilitate the exchange of information across programs, and analyze aggregated, interpreted data and information from existing surveillance systems in order to enhance agency-wide situation awareness both domestically and globally.
WebFirst is currently supporting the CDC's efforts with Portal development based on the Content Management System - Dot Net Nuke (DNN). The CDC is using DNN to create a portal whereby public health incidents (disease outbreaks, etc.) can be mapped (GIS) and reported. CDC upper management will be able to acquire this information quickly and easily using the portal's functionality. WebFirst is tasked with creating DNN web design templates, writing code to incorporate the templates into the system, and supporting users.
