Position is an exciting opportunity to work at biomedical organization in Northern, VA. You would be working directly with project scientists, building a variety of systems including: content management systems, image tracking systems with analysis, reporting and QC capabilities.

Rate is negotiable based on your experience. Short term contract (1099) (est. at 3 months) with option to extend.

  • - At least 4 years of PHP/Mysql/PERL experience
  • - Must have experience gathering requirements and performing requirements analysis
  • - Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, productivity and the ability to integrate solutions with 3rd party software
  • - Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • - Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at both a technical and non-technical level
  • - Experience working in a biomedical research setting and with data analysis software (e.g. matlab)
  • - General familiarity with Image processing methods
  • - Experience with Wikis.

Web / PERL / PHP Developer (Rockville, MD)

WebFirst is an award-winning web application development company specializing in the needs of Health Agencies and Associations. Our services include: Content Management Systems, GIS, Informatics, and Workflow-based applications. Our clients include NIH/NCI, NIH/NLM, The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the UCLA School of Public Health. We have an exciting opening working at the National Institutes of Health, working with bibliographic data and cognitive paths assessed via brain imaging. This position would require working on site Rockville, MD. You will be working with leading researchers in the field. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US. No agency calls please. Rate is negotiable based on your experience. We will consider both 1099 consultants as well as full-time salaried.
  • - At least 3 years of PERL, PHP and Web development experience
  • - Experience in the full development lifecycle
  • - including requirements gathering and analysis
  • - Experience with biomedical applications and/or open source data analysis software (e.g. Moose), MySQL, and SQLite
  • - Experience with various Content Management Frameworks - Catalyst (http://www.catalystframework.org/) or equivalent
  • - Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, productivity and the ability to integrate solutions with 3rd party components
  • - Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • - Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at both a technical and non-technical level
